Regular couplings have a small ridge or stop internally, to prevent over-insertion of a pipe, thus under-inserting the other pipe segment. A slip coupling (sometimes also called a repair coupling) is deliberately made without this internal stop, to allow it to be slipped into place in tight locations, such as the repair of a pipe that has a small leak or which had to be cut temporarily for some reason. Since the alignment stop is missing, it is up to the installer to carefully measure the slip coupling's final location to ensure the correct located position.

Push-fit technology
The idea of push fitting evolved the traditional way. The technology was redesigned, thanks to the collect-gripping mechanism, to be an aid to the plumbing. Using these new joists has prevented the old-fashioned installation methods where the plumbers had to balance on open joists and install the “First Fix” plumbing.
Fit in standard Pipes
These thermoplastic materials are designed to fit in standard pipes sizes with no trouble. While there are no tools or tube inserts required for installation, quick disconnection also can happen without other tools.
Compressions Inlet Thread Type
Compression fittings have straight threads and are made of brass or plastic and are often used on soft copper pipe and small-diameter tubing. The angle stop under your sink is one example of compression threads.
Zero-leak connection
The leak-free advantage of push-on-fittings is something essential. Seal technology applied to these fittings is activated as soon as it is attached to the valve. The O-ring used in the product plays a vital role in achieving this purpose.
